Please Respond

On May 6, Tyler launched Please Respond, a collaborative generative art experiment spanning ten artists.

The idea came to Tyler in the summer of 2025 while walking through Madrid. He recalled a small chain-of-art project he'd seen years earlier among local artists in Austin, and wondered what a generative, code-based version of that might look like, one that would allow viewers to watch a visual conversation unfold.

Tyler created the original work, then passed it to the next artist, who built something entirely their own within two weeks while keeping intact elements of what they inherited. That process was repeated with all ten artists. The most important guideline for the project was to create a piece of art that each respective artist loved.

Each work is absolutely strong enough to stand on its own. But at the same time, every work is quite directly linked with what came before and after it.

The result was ten distinct but connected bodies of work. Each piece stands on its own, but every work is also directly linked to what came before and after it. The care each artist put into responding to the works before them is visible throughout the chain.
